The past few months have been a time of rapid growth for Prometheus, bucking the trend for many businesses emerging from the pandemic.
In late 2021 we moved into new office space in the heart of Fort Dunlop on the outskirts of Birmingham. Location is a key consideration for Prometheus. We need a site that’s easily accessible by road, given that we cover the entire UK from our West Midlands head office. With direct access to the M6 we are able to respond to call-outs in a time-efficient manner, looking after our partners with the best possible service. We’ve also increased the size of our operational team, making us even more responsive than before.
As we’ve grown, we’ve also invested in our fleet. We’ve already added 30 new vehicles to the fleet, with another 20 due over the next four months. Subsequently, this has created employment opportunities in our areas of operation too.
The mental health sector is facing many challenges, with the NHS in particular bearing the brunt of the pressure. We are proud to be an official NHS Approved Supplier, and our services are regulated by the CQC and the Independent Ambulance Association, ensuring quality of care and service at all times and we have a partnership with MPFT.
Our services now include:
- Secure patient transfer
- A&E transfers
- Home collection
- Observation services
- Mental health support for children and young people
All of our team are trained in the secure and comfortable transportation of our service users, including procedures should any restraint be required during transit.
We pride ourselves on our two-hour collection service. The size of our operational team enables us to do multiple jobs at the same time. At the time of writing, we average 20 patient transfers and 5 observation jobs per day.
The future is looking very positive for Prometheus Safe & Secure and Prometheus Complex Care. Our target is to double in size over the next 5 years, and we’ve certainly got off to a flying start.
